BERRYVILLE, Ark. --(Ammoland.com)- Online registration for the International Defensive Pistol Association’s most popular match, the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship, opens this Saturday, December 8, starting at 8:00am ET.
Hosted by Smith & Wesson at their own Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, the match will celebrate its 16th season of competition this coming February 21-23 and is expected to draw a record number of industry sponsors.
Due to the incredible popularity of the Indoor Nationals which has in the past routinely sold out in a matter of minutes, organizers have outlined a priority points system that will be used for this year’s registration process.
IDPA members that have competed in the championship in one or more of the last four years receive one (1) priority point for each year they participated in the match. Competitors can check their priority points ranking on the match registration site.
Online registration will begin at 8:00am ET Saturday morning, December 8 and proceed as follows:
- 8:00 AM – Registration opens for shooters with four (4) priority points
- 10:00 AM – Registration opens for shooters with three (3) priority points
- 12:00 PM – Registration opens for shooters with two (2) priority points
- 2:00 PM – Registration opens for shooters with one (1) priority point
- 4:00 PM – General registration opens for all remaining shooters
General registration for all IDPA members will follow the priority point registration starting at 4:00pm ET on December 8. Any remaining slots still available at that time will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
An outline of the complete match registration process has been posted on IDPA’s Down Zero blog. All IDPA shooters interested in entering the 2013 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship are encouraged to carefully review and familiarize themselves with the procedure prior to the start of online registration Saturday morning.
